Boo! It's that time of the year.
This year officially commemorates the 20th anniversary of Cybersecurity Awareness Month. An entire month dedicated to raising awareness about the criticality of cybersecurity and promoting safe online behavior while simultaneously highlighting the importance of research and innovation in the industry. Through strategic efforts, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) educates individuals and organizations about the potential threats in cyberspace and empowers them with the knowledge to protect their digital presence on national and global scales through valuable resources and impactful campaigns.
The Power of Cyber Awareness
In an increasingly interconnected world, cyberspace has become a vital component of our daily lives. However, it also poses several risks that we must always remain cautious of. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, “Cyberattacks can be catastrophic for businesses and individuals, crippling essential services and causing breaches of confidential business and personal information.” As technology advances, new threats emerge, making it crucial for us to stay aware and vigilant to protect ourselves and our data. The FBI received over 800,000 reports of cybercrime in 2022 alone, and losses totaling $10.3 Billion were accounted for as a result. The top crimes reported are phishing, personal data breach, non-payment/non-delivery, extortion, tech support, and the list continues.

How to Secure Your Digital World
Throughout this month, Cybertainment will regularly post ways, tips, and best practices that can empower individuals and businesses to safeguard their digital presence. From understanding common cyber threats to identifying security measures, we aim to equip our audience with the necessary knowledge and tools needed for a safer online experience.
