WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INNOVATIONS FOR THE WAR FIGHTER
The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) SBDC Center for Government Contracting (CGC) hosted a two-day event called ForceCON 2022 in San Antonio on May 24-25, 2022. ForceCon 2022 teamed U.S. Air Force (USAF) Airmen with the industry to discuss current challenges and potential partnering opportunities to improve workforce development efforts for the warfighter.
As part of ForceCON 22, San Antonio’s new Tech Port Center + Arena highlighted Innovation, Technology, and Gaming. UTSA’s CGC hosted the USAF Air Education and Training Command’s Innovation Day on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, and an Industry Day on behalf of both Air Education & Training Command and the Air Force Installation and Mission
Support Center on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
ForceCON 2022 was a big success on many levels. The theme was clearly “innovation” and how to use innovation and cutting-edge technology to help train the next generation of warfighters. Innovation was omnipresent, whether it was in the medical community, maintenance personnel, or software developers. This shows the forward-thinking of service branches to be prepared and keep the tactical edge over their adversaries. This is also an indicator for the workforce development ecosystem in the type of Cyber Talent that needs to be trained in light of emerging technology that spawns from this very innovation.
Having a front-row seat to the technological breakthroughs and new ways of doing business better prepares us to meet the industry demand for a robust Cyber talent pipeline. ForceCON 2022 outdid themselves, and San Antonio can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store for the Cyber and Tech community.
